Tim Pals - Chief Operating Officer On July 23, 1967, we started our transportation company with one truck - and through the help of devoted drivers and an excellent management team, we have grown to be one of the larger mail contractors in the United States.

Over the years, the needs of the United States Postal Service have changed. Today, the USPS, like many other companies, is working hard on cutting costs to increase efficiency and profit. Recognizing the changing environment, Eagle Express Lines has worked with the USPS to implement changes that will benefit the USPS, our drivers, and our company. Today, while we are still predominately focused on hauling mail, we also offer our premium service to other industries.

General Requirements for Driver Openings at Eagle Express Lines, Inc.

  • Minimum age is 23 years old
  • Class A CDL license with 2 years verifiable experience (Tractor Trailer experience only)
  • Good MVR meeting the following:
    • No more than 1 ticket in the previous year (previous 12 months)
    • No more than 3 tickets in previous 3 years (previous 36 months)
    • Can not have 3 tickets or more for the same offense in previous 5 years (previous 60 months)
    • No more than 2 at fault accidents in 5 years
    • No at fault fatality accidents
    • No conviction involving drugs, alcohol or other controlled substances
    • No conviction involving leaving the scene of an accident
    • No more than 1 reckless or careless driving conviction in 3 years
    • No more than 2 reckless or careless driving convictions in 5 years
    • No pending proceedings for suspension of driver’s license
    • No suspension of driver’s license for any moving violation within previous 3 years (previous 36 months)
    • No revoked license with past 5 years (previous 60 months)
  • Must have adequate on-route driving experience over all types of terrain and weather
  • Pre-employment Drug Screen and DOT physical is required

As a private contractor for the US Postal Service and a freight contractor in or near postal lanes, our driving positions are different than those you might find in other industries.

  • Many of our drivers are home every day and others are home at least every second or third day. This is because Postal Routes and freight are combined as round trips, to a location and then back to the head out point.
  • Our drivers are paid by the hour.
  • We do not haul hazardous materials.
  • Drivers are assigned to a Dispatcher.
  • We have late model, well maintained company equipment.
  • 401K, Health Insurance, and Dental Insurance are available.
